Let’s begin with the basics. A definition that highlights our defining characteristic!
Superhero / Superheroine
(Def) Merriam-Webster: a fictional hero or superheroine having extraordinary or superhuman powers. also: an exceptionally skillful or successful person, or supervillain.
Who doesn’t love a superhero? We all do.
They are our role models - making us believe that the impossible is very much possible. While we do maintain that superheroes are lauded well; they have a huge amount of work to focus on - themselves!
Yes! Superheroes have to be clear in knowing their likes-dislikes, strengths-weakness and all. And who are these superheroes? Us!
Every advertising agency worth their salt actually rules this world! They are superheroes. Here’s why -
1. We make you see what you want them to see. (Better than X-Ray vision)
2. We make people sway with brand ke motions on emotions
3. We love highlighting strengths rather than weaknesses.
4. We swear by the ‘light at the end of the tunnel syndrome
5. We are weak but we are also STRONG (with beer).
6. We help you REcall, REcollect and REmember things, people and places. We are so efficiently REcyclable that way.
7. ‘Humko kon puchta hai’ is never a problem - people ask questions and then adopt our answers elsewhere.
8. Intellectual Property Rights are well within our creative domains but the claims department is located in ‘Lost and Never Found’.
9. The hustle and grind leave us all nursing our ambitions with ointment and band-aids.
10. All problems and solutions, strategies and design-related poltergeist activities begin and end with multiple cups of coffee.
So you see, on the giant Ferris wheel are superheroes going around the tasks and projects that seem to feed on their superhuman strengths. So let’s leave the Cannes red carpet out for them every day!
