Legacy of Grace and Grit: An Evening of Inspiration

In the heart of Ahmedabad, a powerful and inspiring conversation recently unfolded on 20th September 2025, proving that true leadership is a blend of grace and grit. Upshot Brand Media’s iRISE Weekender Fireside Chat, themed "Legacy of Grace and Grit," brought together a select group of attendees for an intimate discussion with Ahmedabad's Deputy Collector, Maitridevi Sisodia. More than just an event, it was a celebration of resilience, passion, and the power of purpose.

Ms. Sisodia's journey is a testament to what's possible when you dedicate yourself to a cause. As a distinguished civil servant, she shared her path to public service, speaking openly about the challenges she overcame and the triumphs that fueled her forward. Her insights highlighted a deep commitment to social transformation and a passionate belief in driving change at the grassroots level. She reminded everyone that true impact is made when we connect with our communities and work to improve lives.

Beyond her impactful administrative career, Ms. Sisodia has a creative spirit that shines through her work as an acclaimed author and poet. The conversation touched upon her powerful literary creations, including her award-winning debut book, Contemporary Cheerharan: Women Fighting Indignity and Injustice, and her recent poetry collection, Moments and Eternities. Her dual roles as a public servant and a writer show that there are many ways to inspire change and encourage people to reflect on their own goals with a passion for growth.

Celebrating the Power of Women

The evening reached a powerful climax with the felicitation of six extraordinary women who have each forged their own paths with remarkable perseverance and success. Ms. Sisodia personally honored these individuals, whose stories served as a beacon of inspiration for everyone in the room. Each of them—from a dedicated educator to a renowned astrologer and a literary society founder—has demonstrated that with determination, passion, and a commitment to their craft, women can and do lead in every field.

These honorees included:

Lt. Dr. Megha Tadavi, an Assistant Professor and NCC Officer shaping disciplined, empowered citizens.

Dr. Bijal Mehta, an Associate Professor and researcher dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs.

Dimpy Tolani Khulchandani, a community builder and co-founder recognized for her work with women and youth.

Namrata Shah, an award-winning Vedic Astrologer celebrating two decades of empowering others.

Dr. Shraddha Ahuja Ramani, an author and founder of the Ahmedabad Literary Society.

Dr. Mana Shah, a lecturer and researcher contributing valuable work to Indian Knowledge Systems.

The fireside chat was a truly special event that left attendees feeling inspired and uplifted. It underscored the profound idea that our legacies are not just defined by our accomplishments but by the grace and grit with which we pursue our passions.
