Haryana Hits Pause Button on Power Bills After Monsoon Mayhem for Farmers

November 5, 2025
Nov 4: UBM News: The monsoon of 2025 was a season many farmers across Haryana won't soon forget. Fields turned into lakes, hopes of a good harvest washed away with the relentless rains and floods. And as if battling nature wasn't enough, another worry loomed large for many: the dreaded electricity bill.
But wait! A ray of sunshine, even amidst the lingering damp! From Chandigarh, on November 4th, came an announcement that had many breathing a sigh of relief.
The Haryana government, understanding the immense pressure on its agricultural backbone, unveiled a special relief scheme. For all agricultural tubewell consumers in the state, electricity bill payments from July 2025 to December 2025 have been deferred for a full six months!
This means those bills, originally due in July 2025, won't be knocking on farmers' doors until January 2026. A spokesperson from the energy department confirmed this welcome news, offering a crucial breathing space for those working tirelessly to recover. It's a helping hand, extended just when it was needed most.
